Designed by De Zwarte Hond, the urban plan provides a central meeting point for residents, featuring approximately 11,500 m² of commercial space and 450 homes, along with public spaces and green areas. The architecture draws inspiration from Nijmegen’s characteristic brick buildings, using design elements like varied building heights, materials, and urban accents to break down the large building blocks into a more human scale.
The Hart van de Waalsprong is intended as a functional and social center where residents can gather, shop, and relax. The central square is designed to encourage interaction and community building.
